Dr Sharma being a bright student was able to crack the prestigious exam of AIPMT and get admission in BJ Medical college and Civil Hospital Ahemdabad(Government Run Hospital),which comes under the top 10 medical college of India and largest in Asia. Dr Sharma did his Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery from Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research(Government Run Hospital). There he was exposed to extensive training in orthopaedic surgery and successfully operated many cases.
Further Training – Dr DP Sharma has special interest in Minimally Invasive Joint Replacement techniques and did training for Direct Anterior BIKINI Hip Replacement,MIS Total Knee Replacement(TKR) and Arthroscopic Surgeries. He also received training in deformity correction like-Genu Varum(bow legs ),Knock knee and Paediatric Orthopaedics like DDH. Dr Sharma further pursued specialty training in Shoulder and Sports injury where he learnt Shoulder Replacement, Arthroscopic Bankarts and rotator cuff injuries along with ACL, PCL and Meniscus surgeries .
Robotic Joint Replacement-Dr Sharma has special interest in providing cutting edge technology to his patients and has been trained for same.

Family -Dr Sharma comes from a family of doctors. His Father is a veteran orthopaedic surgeon. His brother is an Endoscopic Spine surgeon. His elder sister is orthodontist and brother-in-law is an orthopaedic surgeon. Younger sister is an interventional cardiologist and brother-in-law is a Robotic Bariatric surgeon, both based in USA. His wife is an ophthalmologist.
Hobbies – In his free time Dr Sharma likes to workout, read, travel and spend time with his family. He also like playing games and flying kites.
